Hair Extension Salon Turns $800 in Ad Spend into $6k+ in New Client Revenue

Case Study Overview

A boutique hair extension salon on Long Island tasked our team to bring in new clients through paid search. Instead of simply turning on ads, I rebuilt the entire path from search to booking: a dedicated landing page, a restructured consultation offer, and a Google Ads campaign aligned with best practices.

The result: $800 in ad spend generated $6,000 in new client revenue — a 7.5x return on ad spend.

The salon's name has been kept confidential.

Services Provided

  • Google Ads Strategy & Campaign Setup

  • Landing Page Design & Copywriting

  • Offer Strategy & Consultation Restructure

The Challenge

Hair extensions are a high-ticket, high-consideration service. Before booking, prospective clients want to know they'll get a natural color match, the right method for their hair, and a stylist they can trust, and they compare several salons before committing.

The salon had the talent and the reviews, but its online presence wasn't built to turn searches into bookings:

  • Ad traffic had no dedicated page to land on, so visitors had to dig through a general website to understand the offer

  • The consultation offer didn't give new clients a clear, compelling reason to book

  • There was no structured Google Ads campaign capturing local, high-intent searches

The salon needed more than ads. It needed a clear, conversion-focused path from Google search to booked consultation.

The Objective

My role was to step in as an ad strategist and implementation lead to:

  • Make the consultation the obvious, low-friction first step for new clients

  • Build a landing page designed to do one job: book new client consultations

  • Launch a Google Ads campaign that reached the right local searchers at the right moment

  • Prove the channel could pay for itself on a modest test budget

The Approach

1. Restructuring the Consultation Offer

  • Repositioned the consultation as the clear entry point for every new extension client

  • Clarified what's included so prospective clients know exactly what they'll get

  • Reduced friction to booking so interested searchers didn't stall out

2. Building a Dedicated Landing Page

  • Designed a mobile-first page with a single goal: book a consultation

  • Put the booking action front and center, repeated throughout the page

  • Built trust with before-and-after results, extension methods offered, client reviews, and answers to common questions

  • Matched page messaging directly to ad copy so the experience felt seamless from click to booking

3. Setting Up Google Ads to Best Practices

  • Built tightly themed ad groups around extensions and high-intent local searches

  • Targeted the salon's real service area across Long Island

  • Every week reviewed the search terms report to add negative keywords to filter out irrelevant searches, like DIY, product, wholesale, and job-seeker searches

  • Wrote ad copy aligned with the new consultation offer and landing page

  • Added call, location, and sitelink assets to increase visibility and clicks

  • Tracked consultation bookings as conversions so every dollar could be tied to results
